 CARNIVAL RESULTS:

Carnival 2008 was probably the coldest Carnival that I can ever remember but I believe it was still a huge success.  Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and kids that braved the cold to make this a great fundraiser for ACES.  I am still missing a few receipts but it appears we made around $5800.00.  Which is great, especially for as cold as it was.  If anyone has any suggestions or comments, that could help improve the carnival for next year, please don’t hesitate to either email or call Susan Kramer.  Email is sukramer@bbwi.net

GIRL SCOUT NEWS FROM KELLY FRANKLIN:

I need to have all camp forms and money turned into me by Monday, May 5.  These went home a week ago.  If you cannot find yours please let me know.  This is for the camp here in Atchison at Camp Meadowlark on June 6th and 7th. Also we are wrapping up the year and I will be having a bridging ceremony for the 5th, 6th and 8th graders on May 5th at 4:45pm just before we end our last meeting.  I will also be handing out their badges and patches and the cookie awards at that time.  On May 12th we will have our last Brownie meeting for the 1st and 2nd grade and I will also be having their awards ceremony at the end of that meeting.  I would like to congratulate 5th graders, Alyssa, Alicia, Ashley, Allyson, Aubrey, Addie, Catherine, Courtney C, Courtney L, Emily, Madison and Mason, and 6th grader Skylar on their Girl Scout Bronze Award.  This is the highest honor they can receive as Junior Girl Scouts, and the first Girl Scouts at ACES to receive this award.  These girls wrote the requirements and designed a patch that all Girl Scouts can earn on a visit to Atchison.  It will be in the visitors’ center by May 15th for any Girl Scout to earn.  I would also like to congratulate 8th graders, Courtney Blasi, Celia Kasper and Toni Curry on the Silver Award, which is the highest award they can receive as Cadette Girl Scouts.  These girls helped in building a beautiful stepping stone path at our very own Camp Meadowlark.  Congratulations Girls!!
